Good progress happening. Noticed a comment in the local rag about completion date of June 2010? Does this seem realistic?
What date do you anticipate this beign finsihed by?
extremely good idea because it will encourage more people off the street and to stop people hurting people around the manakau region.
i would skate at this skate park any day!

Hi Toneman, No the park will not be finished in June. I will try to locate an updated estimated completion date. A lot will be dependent on the weather of course….
In the meantime we will continue to publish progress photos and keep you up-to-date of any other issues as they arise.

Way cool. It’s rolling along. Although… I have heard that the original plans have changed with work in progress. Especially with regards to the street area (steps) and the shape and size of the large bowl(s). Could a representative update us on these issues?
Hopefully the ‘work in progress re-designing’ is still aligned with the standards of an international level skatepark (for both street and bowl) and not the personal whims of local contractors or designer/consultants changing plans for what THEY see as being appropriate.
can you plz give us a newer photo so we can see what the park will nearly almost look like plz?

All we can says is that the construction is happening as fast it can in this weather. We will post images regularly of the progress. It’s not possible to give you a reliable end date since it’s not possible to predict the amount of wet days we will have over the next couple of months. Keep the faith and keep checking back. And thanks for your interest.

Hi BDEI,
The bowl has been changed slightly into a more cloverlike combi. There have been some alignment changes to the flow park to provide better speed into the cradle. Some steps in the street/plaza area have been changed.
These improvements have been recommended by the skatepark building experts on the job and approved by the Technical Advisory Committee.
Thanks for your comment.

as long as the changes are for the benefits of skaters, and not to save on costs.. then that is very good news!
